The Management of Repairs and Maintenance in Medium-Rise and High-Rise (4-19 storeys high) Strata-titled Apartment Developments (aka condominiums) in Melbourne/ Greater Melbourne, Victoria

This research is looking to understand how repairs and maintenance of the shared or ‘common areas/ common property’ of strata-titled apartment developments is being managed.  We are specifically looking to better understand the roles of all those who participate in the management of repairs and maintenance activities, from the lodging of the original complaint, or the identification of the maintenance item, to the satisfactory resolution of the work required.

The information collected from these surveys will be used to help identify ways in which the building information models (BIM) that are developed during the design and construction of these complex buildings, may be improved, and used by both Owners Corporation ‘Committees of Owners’ and building managers over the lifetime of these buildings.  Access and use of digital building information has been identified as a way in which the management of repairs and maintenance in apartment buildings may be improved.

If you are an apartment owner in a medium-rise or high-rise strata-titled apartment development and are interested in participating in this research (or you know someone who may be interested), please complete this anonymous introductory survey by clicking on or scanning the following links:
